Paw Prints Men's Basketball

UConn Huskies men’s basketball players A.J. Price and Hasheem Thabeet were among to the 50 people named to the Wooden Award watch list for the 2008-09 season.

Including Price and Thabeet, the Big East Conference placed 12 members on the list:

Luke Harangody from Notre Dame, DeJuan Blair and Sam Young from Pittsburgh, Earl Clark and Terrence Williams from Louisville, Marquette’s tandem of Dominic James and Jerel McNeal, Syracuse’s Jonny Flynn, Villanova’s Scottie Reynolds and Georgetown’s DaJuan Summers.

The list will be paired down to a top-30 list in January and then the national ballot will come out in March. The Wooden Award All-American Team will be announced the week of the Elite Eight round in the NCAA tournament. The Wooden Award ceremony will be held in April of 2009 in Los Angeles.
