Evening Red Sox Delight – 3/16

The Boston Red Sox went to Kissimmee this afternoon with a split-squad take on old friend Brad Mills and his Houston Astros squad. And it was Mills who came out on top as the Astros won 3-0.

Jon Lester started for the Red Sox and went four innings, allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out two. Scott Atchison struck out one and gave up a hit in an inning as he looks to bolster his chances of being in the bullpen for the season.

Six Astros pitchers led by Roy Oswalt held the Red Sox to just four hits on the afternoon. Oscar Tejada, Jason Varitek, Jeremy Hermida and Angel Sanchez had the hits.

Tonight, the Red Sox travel up I-75 to take on their AL East rivals the Tampa Bay Rays.
