A year after four UConn Huskies were drafted in the 2009 NFL Draft, just two went in the 2010 NFL Draft.

UConn in the NFL DraftIt didn’t take long for wide receiver Marcus Easley to come off the board as the Buffalo Bills took him with the 9th pick in the 4th round (107th overall). 142 picks later, cornerback Robert McClain heard his named called by the Carolina Panthers with the 42nd pick in the 7th round (249th overall).

It was thought that running back Andre Dixon and defensive end/linebacker Lindsey Witten would be drafted. Unfortunately for them, they weren’t but I’d expect them to sign contracts as undrafted rookie free agents.

According to Witten’s Twitter page, he does have some offers from teams.

Didn’t get drafted! But I’m on to the next! Gotta some offers now I moving forward! Congrats to my boys who did! #StillBlessed

Witten was projected to go in the 4th or 5th round while Dixon was projected as a 7th round pick or to sign as undrafted free agent.
