Saturday afternoon at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, CT., UConn Huskies senior All-American center Tina Charles became just the second active Husky to be inducted into the “Huskies of Honor“. Shortly after that, she went on to the court and put on a show for the Husky faithful.

Charles averaged 22.0 points and 13.0 rebounds.

In UConn’s 33 point win over the DePaul Blue Demons, Charles had 19 points and five rebounds. In the 14 point win over St. John’s on Saturday after her induction, Charles had 25 points and 21 rebounds. She’s the first Husky to have 20 rebounds in a game since 2001 when Swin Cash had 20 against the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Charles and the Huskies are back in action tonight when they step out of conference to take on the No. 12/12 Oklahoma Sooners in Norman, OK.
