Just before the start of tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, the Boston Red Sox announced that they have placed first baseman Kevin Youkilis on the 15-day disabled list. The move has been made retroactive to May 5th.
Taking the spot of Youkilis on the 25-man roster is Gil Velazquez.
