The Boston Red Sox had the day off yesterday as they prepare to face their friends hated rivals to the south, the New York Yankees. Both teams enter the series with the same record (9-6).

The rivalry hasn’t been the same over the years but there has been one thing that’s been pretty heated. That is the “feud” between Kevin Youkilis and Joba Chamberlain. No one seems to know why Joba dislikes Youk (how could you hate Youk, his beard has it’s own website) but one thing’s for certain, Joba’s been warned their will be consequences if he does.

“None of that, man,” David Ortiz told reporters. “Just play the game the way it’s supposed to be, and that’s about it. This is a guy, as good as he is, the next step for him will be to earn respect from everybody in the league. He’s not a bad guy, but when things like that happen, people get the wrong idea.”

Definitely going to be something to watch for in the 1st or 2nd inning tonight plus for the rest of the time that Joba is in there (hopefully an inning or two).
