Baseball is alive and well as the Boston Red Sox kicked off their 2010 spring training game schedule against the Northeastern Huskies this afternoon.
In the first game of a day/night doubleheader, the Red Sox beat the Huskies 15-0.
Casey Kelly started for the Red Sox and was perfect in his inning of work. David Ortiz had a 2-run homer, Luis Exposito had a 2-run double and Gil Velazquez added a 2-run double.
The Red Sox will take on the Boston College Eagles at 6:05 p.m. at City of Palms Park tonight. The game will be televised in the Red Sox television market on NESN. There is no radio broadcast for the game.
Boof Bonser will make the start in the seven inning affair for the Red Sox. He’ll be followed on the mound by Michael Bowden, Junichi Tazawa, Kyle Weiland, Kris Johnson, Fabio Castro and Randor Bierd.
