Real baseball is finally back as the Boston Red Sox will open up the 2010 campaign against the reigning World Series Champions, the New York Yankees, in a three-game set.

They will play tonight, Tuesday night and Wednesday night.

Tonight’s game will start at 8:05 p.m. and will be shown on NESN in the Red Sox television market. The game will be broadcast on YES in the Yankees television market and will be shown on ESPN2 to the rest of the country. If you can catch the television broadcast, you can always listen to the game on the 2010 Red Sox radio network.

Josh Beckett gets the ball from skipper Terry Francona. This is his second Opening Day start with the Red Sox and fifth of his career (three with the Florida Marlins). Beckett has made 16 starts against the Yankees and is 9-5 with a 5.33 ERA. In 2009, he was 2-1 with a 5.34 ERA in five starts against the Bronx Bombers.

CC Sabathia will make his second straight Opening Day start for the Yankees since coming over as a free agent in 2009. He has made 11 career starts against the Red Sox and is 5-5 with a 3.29 ERA. He’s made five starts at Fenway Park where he is 2-2 with a 3.19 ERA. He made four starts against the Red Sox in 2009 and was 3-1 with a 2.22 ERA.
