For the second time this season, UConn Huskies senior center Tina Charles has been named the Big East Player of the Week.
Maya Moore was chosen as the player of the week last week.
In UConn’s two wins last week, Charles averaged 21.5 points and 8.5 rebounds while shooting 62.5% from the field.
Against Florida State, Charles had 24 points and nine rebounds. In the 67 point win over Seton Hall last Saturday, Charles had 19 points, eight rebounds and two assists.
The UConn women are back in action tonight when the South Florida Bulls come to the XL Center for a Big East matchup. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast locally here in Connecticut on CPTV. The game is also available on the internet for a fee through Hoop Streams.
