The long West coast trip for the Red Sox had started out well with the Sox going 4-2 before getting to Seattle and losing two straight games. Kason Gabbard was called up to take the place of Curt Schilling in the rotation and he did no better than Jon Lester did in his start on Monday for Pawtucket.
