Tim Wakefield continued his domination of the Devil Rays and didn’t even matter he didn’t have Doug Mirabelli. After a rough 1st inning, Kevin Cash settled right in and didn’t allow another passed ball. The win for Wakefield was his 15th and that ties him for the MLB lead with John Lackey and his teammate Josh Beckett. Dustin Pedroia kept his hot hitting up and is looking a like a Rookie of the Year candidate. In the end it was a 6-0 Sox win and it got them back to a 5 game lead in the AL East as the Skanks lost to the Angels. Before Jon Lester takes the ball tonight, let’s take a look at the headlines from the Boston and Tampa area media.
