After thumping the Toronto Blue Jays last night, the Boston Red Sox look to do it again in the third game of a four-game set tonight at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Today’s first pitch is scheduled for 7:07 p.m. and will be broadcast on NESN in the Red Sox television market. If you live in the Blue Jays television market, you can catch the game on Rogers SportsNet. And if you can’t catch the television broadcast, you can always listen to the game on the 2011 Red Sox Radio Network.
Tim Wakefield is hoping that lucky number 7 is his number as he makes his seventh try for career win No. 200 in his 20th start (30th appearance) of 2011 for the Red Sox. In his previous 29 appearances (19 starts), Wake is 6-6 with a 4.95 ERA. He is 0-3 with 4.97 in those six starts of trying to get to 200. He’s made three appearances (one start) against the Jays this season and is 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA (4 ER/9.1 IP). He’s made 57 career appearances (43 starts) against Toronto and is 18-14 with a 3.87 ERA. 27 of those appearances (19 starts) have come in Toronto where he is 6-5 with a 4.55 ERA.
Brandon Morrow looks to prevent Wake from getting his 200th win in his 26th start of 2011. In his previous 25 starts, Morrow is 9-10 with a 4.78 ERA. He’s made two starts against the Red Sox this season and is 1-1 with a 12.54 ERA (13 ER/9.1 IP). He’s made 13 career appearances (five starts) against the visiting nine from Boston and is 1-2 with an 8.70 ERA.
