UConn Huskies football coach Bob Diaco was quite clear on one thing earlier this week. If you’re an opponent of the Huskies and think WR Deshon Foxx is a “wildcat” quarterback, you’re mistaken.
Foxx, who hadn’t been under center in a game since his senior year of high school in Lynchburg, VA. And even then, he only played quarterback once in a while while spending most of the games at wide receiver, his normal position at UConn as well.
For his part, Foxx is at ease back there.
“I definitely feel comfortable,” said Foxx. “It’s tough learning everything. But the way the coaches are explaining to me and keeping it simple for me has been a great help.’
“I feel comfortable and confident. I feel like that’s the most important thing when stepping on to the field.”
So if you’re watching the Huskies take on Tulane tonight and see him at quarterback, remember one thing.
He’s not a wildcat quarterback.
Watch below as Diaco talks about what Foxx can do as the quarterback.
