According to Desmond Conner of the Hartford Courant, the UConn Huskies head football coach Randy Edsall is set to announce Akron Zips offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Joe Moorhead as his new offensive coordinator. The official announcement will come tomorrow.
Moorhead will take over for Rob Ambrose who left the Huskies to be the head coach at Towson University. He has been at Akron the past the 5 years, spending the last 3 as the offensive coordinator and QB coach. He has also coached at Georgetown and Pittsburgh.
He is a 1996 graduate of Fordham University and was the quarterback there for the 2003-05 seasons.
