Mike Flynt, the 59-year old football player for Sul Ross State University, did not see action in yesterday’s 55-14 spanking at the hands of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
Since they were getting killed, their head coach didn’t want to risk injury for next week’s home opener.
They weren’t the only ones disappointed. Midway through the fourth quarter, the Mary Hardin-Baylor band chanted “We want Mike Flynt!” followed by “49! 49!” (his jersey number) and finally, “Put Mike in!”
Look for Flynt to finally play next week against East Texas Baptist.
