dogs shooting guns = funnyJames Harris of Tama, Iowa was out hunting with a group of friends on the opening day of pheasant hunting season when the group shot a bird. Harris put his shotgun down on the ground and started to hop a fence when his own dog stepped on the gun firing one shot of about 120 pellets into Harris’ calf from about 3 feet away.

Harris had surgery and is doing fine and was listed in good condition today at Universitys Hospital in Iowa City.

No one else was hurt and the dog was uninjured.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has decided not to cite the dog for hunting without a license.
