According to Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald, the New England Patriots have invited free agent wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh in for a workout on Monday at the team facility in Foxboro.
Houshmandzadeh has played with current Patriots wide receivers Chad Ochocinco in Cincinnati and Deion Branch in Seattle. He has also played for the Baltimore Ravens.
A 4th round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2001 NFL Draft out of Oregon State, where he first teamed with Ochocinco has made on Pro Bowl, was a 2007 All-Pro and in that season tied Patriots WR Wes Welker for the most catches that season. In 10 NFL seasons Houshmandzadeh has 616 catches for 7091 yards and 43 TD’s.
Houshmandzadeh was seen as a complainer and having had a poor season was not re-signed by Baltimore after last season. He said recently, “If I go to the right team I’ll shock a lot of people.”
It remains to be seen if New England is the right team.
