With the Kentucky Wildcats winning the 2012 NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship, it should come as no surprise that they finished the season as the No. 1 team in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll. The AP does not release a poll after the tournament.
As we might have expected, the UConn Huskies didn’t finished the season ranked or among the others receiving votes. But there are some teams from the Big East that are ranked.
The teams from the Big East in the final poll of the season are the No. 4 Louisville Wildcats, No. 5 Syracuse Orange, No. 10 Marquette Golden Eagles, No. 17 Georgetown Hoyas and No. 18 Cincinnati Bearcats.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Pitt Panthers and South Florida Bulls are among the others receiving votes.
