The UConn women’s basketball team entered the 2015 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament as the prohibitive favorites to win it all. On Saturday night at home, they got a chance to show everyone why they are favored.

Morgan Tuck put up career-highs of 26 points and eight assists to help UConn to the second round.

Behind Morgan Tuck’s career-high 26 points and eight assists, the top seeded UConn Huskies rolled past the No. 16 seed St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers 89-33 in front of 3,666 at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, CT.

UConn improves to 33-1 while the Northeast Conference Champion Terriers finish their season at 15-19.

Breanna Stewart added a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Huskies. Gabby Williams came off the bench to score 15 points while fellow freshman Kia Nurse had 12 points.

Kiah Stokes tied Stewart with 10 rebounds but also had six blocked shots.

Canton, CT native Sarah Benedetti led St. Francis Brooklyn with 13 points. Jaymee Veney, Eilidh Simpson and Alex Delany all had five points while Leah Fechko had a team-high five rebounds.

UConn will take on their former Big East rivals the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in a second round matchup on Monday night at 9 p.m.
