Former UConn Huskies and current Houston Astros OF George Springer, a New Britain, CT native, hit his first career MLB home run on Thursday afternoon off of Detroit Tigers starter Drew Smyly.
And oh by the way, he made an outstanding catch earlier in the game to rob Miguel Cabrera of a hit.
