HARTFORD, August 27, 2014: Global Spectrum, operators of the XL Center and Hartford Wolf Pack, today announced the 2014-15_schedule for the Wolf Pack.
The Wolf Pack’s first game of 2014-15 is on the road, as the Pack travel to Syracuse Sunday, October 12 for a 5:00 PM date with the Crunch. Then, the Pack’s home opener at the newly-renovated XL Center takes place the following Saturday, October 18, when the Wolf Pack host the Portland Pirates at 7:00.
Including the October 18 home opener, the Pack have 12 Saturday dates on their home schedule, and 15 of their home games are on Fridays. The 2014-15 slate also features seven Sunday home outings, as well as one Thursday and three Wednesdays.
One of those Wednesday dates, November 5 vs. Albany, will feature “School Day Special” morning hockey excitement at the XL Center, with the Wolf Pack and Devils facing off at 11:00 AM. The remainder of the Wolf Pack’s non-Sunday home games will start at 7:00 PM, with the exception of Saturday, November 22 vs. Bridgeport and Saturday, February 14 vs. Albany, for which puck drop is 7:30 (as part of “doubleheaders” with UConn Men’s Hockey games), and Saturday, December 20 vs. Lehigh Valley, which features a special early start time of 5:00. All Pack Sunday home contests will face off at 3:00.
The Wolf Pack’s most familiar adversaries in 2014-15 will be their Northeast Division rivals the Springfield Falcons, Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Albany Devils, whom the Pack will battle ten times each (five home and five away). The Pack will see the other Northeast Division team, the Syracuse Crunch, eight times (four home, four away) during the campaign.
The Wolf Pack’s schedule also sees the club meet the entire Atlantic Division, which consists of the Providence Bruins, Worcester Sharks, Portland Pirates, Manchester Monarchs and St. John’s IceCaps, four times each (two home and two away). Head Coach Ken Gernander’s club will also take on East Division foes the Hershey Bears, Norfolk Admirals, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Lehigh Valley Phantoms four times apiece (two home, two away), and the Pack will tangle with the Binghamton Senators twice (one home, one away).
