Eddie House and Ray Allen eached missed shots on the Boston Celtics final possession as the Celtics dropped a 114-112 decision to the Toronto Raptors at the sold out TD BankNorth Garden on Wednesday night.
Jose Calderon hit an old fashioned three point play with 13 seconds left to give the Raptors a late 114-112 lead and they made it stand up with a little help as House missed a three and Allen couldn’t put back the rebound at the horn as the Celtics dropped to 33-7 on the season and it was the Green’s first loss in the division all year.
The Celtics were led by Kevin Garnett who had 26 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Boston had four other players in double figures as Ray Allen had 19 points 6 boards and 4 assists, Paul Pierce had 19 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists, Tony Allen had 15 points and Rajon Rondo chipped in with 14 points.
The Raptors tore it up from beyond the arc hitting on 71% of their 3’s and they were perfect at the line going 19 of 19. Toronto was led by Calderon who had 24 points and 13 assists, Chris Bosh had 23 points and 7 rebounds, Anthony Parker had 23 points, the magician Andre Bargnani had 20 points, 7 boards and 7 assists and Carlos Delfino had 15 points, all on 3’s for the visitors.
The Celtics get back on the floor Friday night when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves (aka Boston Celtics West) at the Garden at 7:30 PM.
