Millar’s Coming Back To Beantown
Look who’s coming back to Boston!!! It’s Mr. Cowboy Up himself. Here’s the press release from NESN.
KEVIN MILLAR JOINS NESN AS RED SOX STUDIO ANALYST
BOSTON, MA – NESN, New England’s most watched sports network, announced today that former Red Sox first baseman and post-season hero, Kevin Millar, has joined NESN to serve as a Red Sox studio analyst for select games. Millar will share time in the NESN studios with the network’s trio of Hall of Fame baseball analysts Dennis Eckersley, Peter Gammons and Jim Rice.
“We are thrilled to have Kevin join our team of outstanding studio analysts,” said Joel Feld, NESN’s executive vice president of programming and executive producer. “Kevin is a fan favorite and he brings first-hand knowledge of the game. He has never been shy about sharing his opinions and our fans will enjoy the added dimension he will bring to our Red Sox programming.”
Millar will make his NESN debut on Thursday, May 27th at 6:00 PM on Olympia Sports presents The Boston Globe Red Sox GameDay Live before the Red Sox host the Kansas City Royals at Fenway Park. He will join host Tom Caron and Jim Rice on the NESN Yawkey Way stage.
Millar became a cult hero for Red Sox fans with his iconic “Cowboy Up” rallying cry after joining the Red Sox in 2003. He was a key member of the Red Sox 2004 World Series Championship team. The 12 year major league veteran, played for 4 different teams (Marlins, Red Sox, Orioles and Blue Jays) compiling a .274 career batting average with 170 home runs. Since retiring in April of this year, Millar also recently joined MLB Network as a studio analyst.
Jerry Remy Likes To Draw Man Parts
During tonight’s Boston Red Sox vs Toronto Blue Jays game, NESN’s Jerry Remy had a little fun with the telestrator as he drew a penis over the tie of Don Orsillo.

Hat tip to @RedSoxRedShoes for the photo.

NESN Drops The Ball
With it being a gloomy rainy day in just about all of New England, many Boston Red Sox fans were hoping to catch their beloved team take on the Pittsburgh Pirates in Grapefruit League action.
NESN’s 2010 Red Sox Spring Break Schedule
I know I’ve been slacking on the Boston Red Sox coverage here lately but that’s going to change now as pitchers and catchers have reported and enjoyed their first day of workouts. The rest of the team that hasn’t already reported will be in camp on Monday with their first full workout next Wednesday.
Like they’ve done in the past, NESN is once again broadcasting from Ft. Myers and the Red Sox minor league development complex. Coming up after the jump is NESN’s schedule of events.
Rut Ro Raggy! Who’s Slutney Going to Bang Now?

Over her brief time time in Boston with NESN, Heidi Watney or Slutney as the Twitter world calls her, has been linked to Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek, NESN’s John Carter, former Red Sox grounds crew member Paul Williams and just last season Red Sox shortstop Nick Green.
While Watney is on record as saying she hasn’t been with Green, the rumors were out there all summer even after her declaration. And now Green doesn’t think he’ll be back in Boston in 2010.
I would’ve liked to stay with the Red Sox, but it’s a business and that’s how it goes. Just try to see what’s out there and see what the best fit might be. I don’t know when that fit will come, but I’d like to know sooner rather than later, because it’s always tough in the offseason not having a job,” Green said.
So with Green most likely out of the picture in 2010, who’s Watney going to shack up with next? Lucky for her, the Captain is back next season but he might not want to go back for filthy fifths.

RemDawg To Do Only Home Red Sox Games For Rest of 2009
After coming back at the beginning of the last homestand, NESN color analyst for Boston Red Sox games Jerry Remy said that he would probably do only the home games for the rest of the season.
On Tuesday afternoon via Twitter, he made that official.
For rest of season I’ll be doing home games only-means #RedSox don’t have Wally with them-so you should keep your Wally close to TV-Jerry
I don’t think anyone in Red Sox Nation has a problem with this at all as we all want the RemDawg to continue to get better from his recent health problems.
My best guess is that Dave Roberts and Dennis Eckersley will fill-in on the road for the rest of the 2009 season. Roberts is expected in the booth for Tuesday night’s game with the Tampa Bay Rays.
Heidi Watney Will Do Anything For A Buck
We all know that NESN’s Boston Red Sox sideline reporter Heidi Watney is eye candy to some but she’s shown at times that she’s not the brightest bulb on the tree. And now to top it off, she “plays” a dumb pretty blonde in an Olympia Sports commercial

Her NESN cohorts Don Orsillo and Tom Caron also did spots for Olympia Sports as well. Orsillo:

Disco Denny
During last night’s Boston Red Sox win over the Kansas City Royals, NESN commentators Don Orsillo and Dennis Eckersley recalled a story from Friday last night about Orsillo eating ice cream every night. During that exchange, Orsillo said something about Eck being a Bee Gees fan, saying he had a little Maurice Barry Gibbs going on. Well during the game last night, NESN put up a screenshot of Eck and Gibbs together. Of course that led to a pretty funny conversation about Eck’s younger days and how he used to hang out at Studio 54. But that’s not where I’m going with the story. During the game, one of my Twitter followers and a person I follow, Mickie Dorado asked this:
Where are my photoshop artists with the eck head on travolta white three piece body?
Since the Red Sox were killing them at the time, I put my amateur photoshop skills to the test and came up with this little picture located after the jump. Continue reading
