Red Sox-Braves Postponed

TONIGHT’S GAME BETWEEN ATLANTA AND BOSTON HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO RAIN. IT WILL BE MADE UP AS PART OF A DAY/NIGHT DOUBLEHEADER ON SATURDAY, MAY 19 AT 1:05 AND 7:35 PM EDT.

I just found out via the ProJo Sox blog that Daisuke Matsuzaka will still pitch the first game of the doubleheader but instead of being opposed by John Smoltz, Anthony Lerew will take the hill.

Smoltz will pitch in the nightcap and tonight’s Sox starter, Devern Hansack will throw against him.

It is still Tim Hudson vs TBA on Sunday. But as I have in the post below with the pitching matchups, I and numerous other sites are speculating that it will be Kason Gabbard.

Red Sox-Tigers Postponed

I couldn’t get this up earlier due to my weekly commitment to our radio show but I am sure you already know this by now that the Red Sox-Tigers game was postponed tonight due to the absolutely lovely weather we are having here. We had a big line of thunderstorms pass through the New England area and in fact it is still raining here.

The Sox announced that the game will be made up as a day-night doubleheader. First game will be 12:35 PM and the second game will be at the regularly scheduled time of 7:05. Julian Tavarez will start game 1 for the Sox and be opposed by Mike Maroth. Curt Schilling will make his regularly scheduled start and will be opposed by Chad Durbin.

Both games will be shown on NESN.
