Well we definitely have seen the end of Jason Bay in a Boston Red Sox uniform.

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com and Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe are reporting that the Red Sox have reached a deal with outfielder Mike Cameron for 2 years worth roughly around $15.5 to $16 million. The deal is contingent upon Cameron passing a physical.

It’s not known where Cameron will play since Jacoby Ellsbury is the Red Sox center fielder. It’s quite possible Cameron could play left or Ellsbury could shift over there as well.

In 149 games with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2009, Cameron hit .250 with 24 home runs, 70 RBIs and seven stolen bases. He did strikeout 156 times in 544 at-bats last season.

Cameron is strong defensively and has won two Gold Gloves for his defense. He won one with the Seattle Mariners  in 2001 and with the San Diego Padres in 2006.

Update 12/15: The press conference for Cameron will be held on Wednesday at Fenway Park separate from the presser for John Lackey.
