On this day back in 1971 when the The Pirates traded OF Matty Alou and P George Brunet to the Cardinals for OF Vic Davalillo and P Nelson Briles, and when President Richard Nixon was sending a letter to people of the Virgin Islands, I was born to my parents, Ladd and Sue, in beautiful Schnectady, NY. For those who haven’t been to Schnectady, I may have embellished a little bit.
