While most of New England digs out from the snowstorm that passed through on Friday, all of Red Sox Nation and the baseball world is still wondering what is going on with the Mark Teixeira saga.
The general consenus from around all of baseball is that the Boston Red Sox are still in the hunt and probably are still considered the front runners. Most are calling John Henry’s statement from Thursday night a bluff to Scott Boras’ demands. For me, I’m wasn’t so sure at first. I really thought the Red Sox were done.
But like I said above, the more and more I read from around the blogosphere and media, the Red Sox and Boras are playing high stakes poker. And as many have pointed out, this isn’t the first hand that the Red Sox and Boras have played. And we know it won’t be the last.
I’ve never said my opinion was right about this because until the ink is dry on a contract somewhere else, the Red Sox aren’t going anywhere. And as I said, I’d be the first to admit I was wrong when I said the Red Sox were out of it. So there you go. I’ve reversed course now and say the Red Sox are still players for Teixeira. Honestly though, I’d just wish he’d sign and get over this long saga. It’s getting old at this point.
So let’s move forward and get to some links including ones I missed yesterday.
