According to a tweet from former UConn Huskies football player Cody Brown's agent Nate Haber, Brown is heading to the New York Jets.
Client OLB Cody Brown, a 2nd round pick in '09, is headed for the NY Jets.
Brown was one of the final cuts by the Cardinals on Saturday but will now be heading to the Jets after they claimed him on waivers.
And former UConn wide receiver/kick returner Larry Taylor will be staying with the New York Jets as a practice squad player according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

Former UConn Huskies safety Robert Vaughn was hoping to catch on with the Hartford Colonials where he played his college ball at Rentschler Field. They had added him to roster back on August 26th.
But unfortunately for Vaughn, he won't be calling Rentschler Field home again as he was one of six players cut by the Colonials on Sunday. The cuts brings the Colonials roster down to 59 players with seven more players to be cut by Thursday.
There are still five former Huskies on the roster:
- Dahna Deleston, safety
- Andre Dixon, running back
- Keith Gray, center/guard
- Mike Hicks, tackle
- Danny Lansanah, linebacker

My plan for this morning was to get all the posting done before I left for my parent's lakehouse to celebrate the birthday's of my uncle, dad, mom and grandmother, all of which fall within nine days of each other. I had started working on them this morning but there was an issue with the server Bloguin hosts our blogs on.
Since I had to leave by a certain time, I had to forget about posting anything here and make sure I was there on time since my Uncle was traveling in from New Hampshire.
While I won't do the overnight Red Sox post in which I would have said it's going to take a miracle for them to get to the playoffs, I will do the Red Sox minor league post as well as the overnight UConn post.
I do apologize as I had no intentions of skipping anything today. It just happened to work out that way with the server being down.

This was definitely not the way that Randy Edsall wanted his UConn Huskies team to start the 2010 season. The Huskies had high expectations coming into 2010 and although they won't change, Edsall certainly has a lot to work on to get there.
For whatever reason, the Huskies have had trouble stopping mobile quarterbacks. And on Saturday, it was no different as Denard Robinson rushed for 197 yards and a touchdown as the Michigan Wolverines beat the Huskies 30-10 in front 113,090 at the Big House
Robinson also threw for 186 yards and a touchdown as the Huskies had no answer for him at all. The offense shouldn't have been a surprise to the Huskies as they've seen it before when Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez when he was at West Virginia. Many of the Huskies defenders must have thought former Mountaineers QB Pat White was on the field.
The Wolverines were able to get 287 yards rushing due to the play of their offensive line. A small question mark coming into the season, the Huskies front four couldn't get any pressure on Robinson at all and at times looked all out of whack. Edsall went with a nickel package early on and the Wolverines exploited that as Robinson ran the Huskies ragged in getting his team out to a quick 14-0 lead.
Plus it didn't help that the Huskies couldn't tackle anyone to save their lives. There were too many missed tackles for my liking and I'm sure Edsall's as well.
On the offensive side of things, the Huskies looked out of sync as well. Some of quarterback Zach Frazer's throws were short or to the left or right of the receiver. Plus it didn't help that his receivers had some key drops at critical times. The one by Michael Smith at the Michigan two yard line comes to mind.
The Huskies did rally back after falling behind 21-0 with ten straight points to end the first half. And after allowing an early field goal in the third quarter, the Huskies looked like they were going to pull within a touchdown of the Wolverines.
On a 4th and 1 at the Michigan seven yard line, Edsall decided they would go for it. They handed the ball off to D.J. Shoemate who ran for four yards before Michigan's Obi Ezeh knocked the ball loose and recovered it. The fumble by Shoemate, who was playing in his first game after transfering from Southern Cal, seemed to take all the momentum out of the Huskies.
From that point on, they were listless on offense and Michigan's offensive line just absolutely controlled UConn's front four. It's hard to win ball games when the other team has the ball for almost 37 minutes.
The Huskies will need to use this week of practice to get everything back on track because I'm sure this was not what Edsall had envisioned for his team on Saturday. Don't get me wrong, UConn is very good but unless the defensive line steps up, it could be a long season.

Not only did their former college team the UConn Huskies lose to Michigan in the season opener on Saturday, now a few former Huskies are looking for new jobs after cutdown day in the NFL.

Cody Brown of the Arizona Cardinals, Julius Williams of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Donald Thomas of the Miami Dolphins, Larry Taylor of the New York Jets and Tyler Lorenzen of the New Orleans Saints were all cut by their respective teams.
Brown, a Cardinals second round pick in 2009, missed the 2009 season after suffering a wrist injury during the preseason. Williams had made the Jaguars in 2009 as undrafted rookie free agent saw action in 11 games last year with eight tackles.
Thomas was drafted by the Dolphins in the 6th round of the 2008 draft and earned the starting right guard position on the third day of training camp. Unfortunately for him, he suffered a broken foot during the first game that season and was placed on injured reserve. He returned in 2009 to appear in all 16 games starting in 12 of them.
Taylor was signed by the Jets during January after two years in the CFL. There are rumors circulating that the Jets are going to try to sign him to the practice squad.
Lorenzen signed with the Jaguars an undrafted rookie free agent in 2009 but was cut. He ended up getting a Super Bowl ring as a member of the Saints practice squad.
