No one would have blamed UConn Huskies WR Kamal Abrams if he had a bad training camp in August. His mind was elsewhere at times.
On July 23, a very close friend in Rashaad Lewis was stabbed during an altercation in Newark, DE. Unfortunately on August 11, Lewis passed.
But instead of getting down before Lewis’ passing and after, Abrams used his friend’s situation to work as hard as he could during camp.
Abrams has dedicated his season to his friend.
Watch below as UConn head coach Bob Diaco talks about Abrams battling through this adversity as well as Abrams talking about the loss of his friend and what he did to get through it.
