Video: Super Bowl 46 Commercials

Are you looking to rewatch your favorite commercials from Super Bowl 46 that was held on Sunday night in Indianapolis, IN between the New York Giants and New England Patriots. If you are, look no further as you can find them all below.

Let us know in the comments which one was your favorite. I can honestly say I was disappointed in them this year. The only that reallly made me laugh out loud was the E*Trade one..

Super Bowl XLVI Predictions

NY Giants vs New England Patriots Super Bowl XLVI

Here are our predictions for who will win Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday night between the New York Giants and New England Patriots. We will also give our picks for who we think wins the Super Bowl XLVI MVP.

Ian: New England Patriots 34 New York Giants 23

Coming off of a great defensive effort against the Ravens in the AFC Championship, I think the Patriots defense will step up again in this one.

MVP: TE Aaron Hernandez

With Rob Gronkowski seemingly healthy, I think the Giants will be focused on him as well as Wes Welker leaving Hernandez open for Tom Brady to find and put up some great numbers.

Steve: New England Patriots 30 New York Giants 28

The game will be a tight battle with teams pretty much answering each other when they score.  In the 4th quarter the Giants forge a small lead only to see it vaporize in the final seconds on Patriots field goal.

MVP: WR Chad Ochocinco, New England

You see that right.  Something tells me he could very well be a house on fire on Sunday and if he is it will be spectacular.

Red Sox Avoid Arbitration With Alfredo Aceves

In order to avoid going to arbitration, Boston Red Sox GM Ben Cherington had to work out deals with Alfredo Aceves and David Ortiz. And with the hearings scheduled for both of them sometime within the next 12 days, he’s running out of time to avoid the Red Sox going to arbitration for the first time since the 2002 season.

Alfredo Aceves #91 of the Boston Red Sox reacts to loading the bases in the eighth inning against the Minnesota Twins on August 10, 2011 at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota.Well now,at the very least, he only has to worry about going to arbitration with one of them.

The Boston media is reporting that the Red Sox and Aceves have agreed on a one-year, $1.2 million contract. Alex Speier of WEEI.com states the contract also includes up to $100,000 in bonuses depending on how many games Aceves starts or how many appearances he makes. There’s no word on whether the contract also includes towels to wipe the pouring sweat off of his head on the mound.

Aceves had asked for $1.6 million while the Red Sox were offering $950,000 so the two sides almost met in the middle.

We do know that Aceves is heading to spring training as a starter and will compete with a slew of others for the final spot in the Red Sox rotation barring another signing (Roy Oswalt).

He was a rock out of the Red Sox bullpen in 2011. He made 55 appearances (four starts) and was 10-2 with a 2.61 ERA.

While their have been reports out there that the Red Sox are likely to go to arbitration with Big Papi, he told ESPN Deportes on Saturday that he still is holding out hope for a multi-year deal with the Red Sox.

Big Papi is seeking $16.25 million from the Red Sox while the team is offering $12.65 million.

UConn Women Cream Rutgers, 66-34

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights were playing without one of their leaders in Khadijah Rushdan. The UConn Huskies women’s basketball team hadn’t played a game in a while where they dominated from start to finish.

With Rutgers shorthanded, it didn’t take UConn long to take control of the game as they went on to a very easy 66-34 win over 9,982 on Saturday at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, CT. The crowd of 9,982 was the biggest at Gampel this season.

It’s the ninth straight win for the No. 3/3 Huskies who improve to 21-2 (9-1 Big East). With their third straight loss, No. 13/14 Rutgers falls to 17-6 (6-4).

UConn's Stefanie Dolson reacts to a Huskies basket against Rutgers at Gampel Pavilion Saturday. Playing just 20 minutes, Stefanie Dolson paced the Huskies with 16 points and had four rebounds.  Tiffany Hayes added 14 points, five rebounds and seven assists while Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis broke out of her shooting slump with 11 points and had five rebounds.

Kiah Stokes continues to impress with her improved play as she came off the bench to score 10 points and pull down five boards. Bria Hartley scored all eight of her points in the second half and also had seven assists as well as five rebounds. Kelly Faris led the Huskies with seven rebounds to go along with her four points, three assists, two steals and one blocked shot.

Monique Oliver was the only member of the Scarlet Knights to find double digits as she led them with 15 points and eight rebounds. Betnijah Laney chipped in with eight points.

Rutgers kept this one close early as they actually held a 4-2 lead. But with the scored tied at 6-6 with Dolson scoring the first six UConn points, Hayes started a 17-0 run with eight straight points. KML added the next nine points as part of that run. Nikki Speed ended the five minute scoreless drought and the UConn run with a jumper to cut the UConn lead to 23-8.

The Scarlet Knights would get back to within 10 points with a 7-2 run before the Huskies closed out the first half on a 12-4 run to enjoy a 37-19 lead at the break.

Rutgers would get only as close as 16 points twice early in the second half. UConn then used a 16-4 to take complete control of the game and never looked back from there.

Before when Dolson would go to the bench for a break or foul trouble, the Huskies were getting very little production down in the post. But with the emergence of Stokes lately, UConn head coach Geno Auriemma hasn’t had to worry about anything down there. You can definitely tell she’s played with a renewed vigor down there and that can only help the Huskies in the long run.

The Huskies will take on another ranked team their next time out on Tuesday night when they travel to the KFC Yum! Center to take on the No. 14/12 Louisville Cardinals. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast nationally on the CBS Sports Network.

The Huskies had 19 assists on their 24 made baskets.

UConn was 6-of-18 (33.3%) from beyond the arc. Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis had three of the six. Hartley had two and Hayes the other. Rutgers was 0-for-7.

Connecticut Whale 4, Hershey Bears 1

By Brian Ring

Hershey, PA, February 4, 2012 – The Connecticut Whale defeated the Hershey Bears, 4-1, Saturday night at the Giant Center to win their second straight game. Tommy Grant scored twice for the Whale and goaltender Chad Johnson made 39 saves in the victory.

CT WhaleThe win, coupled with Bridgeport’s loss to Manchester, moved the Whale back into a share of first place in the Northeast Division with 51 points.

“Johnson had a good game in net, we got a power-play goal, we got some secondary scoring with Tommy Grant getting two, there were a lot of things in our favor tonight,” said Whale head coach Gernander.

The two teams played exactly 16 minutes of scoreless hockey before Grant gave the Whale a 1-0 lead in the opening period. Grant carried the puck down the left wing boards, snapping a shot that squeaked under the left arm of Bears’ goaltender Dany Sabourin (17 saves). Grant’s goal, his fourth of the season, was assisted by Scott Tanski and Jared Nightingale.

Hershey, however, would tie the game right back up just 1:19 later, as former Whale Tomas Kundratek’s shot from the point was tipped past Chad Johnson by Cody Eakin.  Boyd Kane also registered an assist on the score, the eighth of the year for Eakin.

The Whale would retake the lead on the power-play 12:10 into the second period, as Kris Newbury shot a puck up and over Sabourin for his team-leading 17th goal, the eventual game-winner. Newbury was fed by Mats Zuccarello on the back-hand below the right faceoff circle, leaving the Whale veteran with an open chance. Tim Erixon also assisted on the play.

Andre Deveaux would extend the Whale advantage to 3-1 just 1:22 later, as he converted a nifty three-way passing play between himself, Casey Wellman and Jonathan Audy-Marchessault. Audy-Marchessault’s pass found a wide-open Deveaux as the trio crossed into the Hershey zone, with Deveaux promptly depositing the puck into the top right corner of the cage.  It was the first Whale point for Wellman, who was making his Whale debut after being acquired from the Minnesota Wild on Friday.

Grant would strike again to provide the game’s final tally, his second of the night, with 6:10 remaining in the third period. Kelsey Tessier won a draw to the right of Sabourin straight to Grant, who shot and scored for the first multi-goal game of his professional career and a 4-1 Whale lead.

“We got contributions from everyone and it was a good team win,” said Gernander.

The Whale will now return home on Tuesday, when they host the Syracuse Crunch in their only visit to the XL Center this season (7:00 PM).
