Video: Nick Punto Hopes To Win World Series This Year

One half of the competition for the Boston Red Sox starting shortstop position, Nick Punto, stopped by the NESN Live set on Wednesday to talk with Tom Caron.

In the interview the pair talked about how Punto hopes to win his second straight World Series; he won with the St. Louis Cardinals last year. They also talk about new skipper Bobby Valentine among other things.

Video: Providence Beats UConn 72-70

The UConn Huskies men’s basketball team’s NCAA Tournament hopes took a huge hit on Tuesday night when they lost to the Providence Friars 72-70 in front of 11,031 at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, RI.

The Huskies fall to 17-12 (7-10 Big East) while the Friars improve to 15-15 (4-13).

Andre Drummond led the way for the Huskies with a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds. Ryan Boatright added 13 points, five rebounds and six assists while Jeremy Lamb had 12 points and six rebounds. Roscoe Smith chipped in with 11 points.

Bryce Cotton paced all scorers in the game with 22 points while LaDontae Hinton added 18 points. Gerard Coleman added 13 points and seven rebounds while Kadeem Batts led the Friars with 13 rebounds to go along with his six points.
