I am sure we all needed a nice day of rest yesterday after staying up late on Sunday night to watch the Red Sox victory and celebration. The Sox worked out at Fenway Park on Monday afternoon in anticipation of Wednesday’s Game 1. The pitching matchup for Game 1 is set. It will be Jeff Francis vs Josh Beckett. That’s about all that is confirmed right now. The rest of the rotation and roster will probably be determined tomorrow or at the latest Wednesday morning when it has to be in the league office. Rumors are that Tim Wakefield may start Game 2. I’d have to think we won’t see Eric Gagné on the roster. If you were wondering how Coco Crisp was feeling, he’s doing fine after crashing into the wall on the final out of Sunday’s ALCS game 7. If you’re trying to get tickets to the games in Colorado, tickets will go on sale again at 10 AM MDT (12 PM EDT). So while we await today’s press conferences and hopefully an announcement of the pitching rotation and roster, let’s take a look at the headlines from the Boston area and Denver media on this Soxtober morning.
