Have you ever done something stupid that resulted in a bodily injury to yourself? I have, as my friends will attest and will never let me forget.
One day after waking up and taking a shower, I was cleaning my ears out with a Q-Tip and lost my balance and you guessed it, hit the wall on the side I was cleaning out with the Q-Tip in my ear. I popped my eardrum and it started to bleed immediately. After seeing the doctor and having it cleaned out, I had to put antibiotics in my ear and use swimmer’s ear plugs when I showered. Needless to say it wasn’t fun and hurt like heck.
So as I sit here and write this, I know what NY Giants linebacker Chase Blackburn is going through right now.
After Sunday’s Giants game with the Philadelphia Eagles, Blackburn was cleaning his ear when a Q-Tip when a reporter bumped into him causing the Q-Tip to almost rupture his eardrum. Blackburn fell to the ground stating that he couldn’t hear out the ear and then it started to bleed.
Blackburn should regain his hearing once the eardrum heals.
So the lesson learned here is do not put the Q-Tip all the way in your ear, especially in a crowded locker room.
[Hat tip to Carolina and Marc for the email giving me heck again about this]Â
