Arkansas defensive end was arrested Friday night on felony drug charges. Police found marijuana and one Ecstasy pill in his car. He has been suspended indefinitely by Razorbacks coach Houston Nutt.

USC will be without the services of starting running back Chauncey Washington and backup quarterback Mark Sanchez for their opener against Idaho. Both were injured during a preseason scrimmage. It shouldn’t really hurt the Trojans as they are 45-point favorites.
According to a source at the University of Texas, the Board of Regents at the school will give head coach Mack Brown a contract extension and a raise. The extension will add another 10 years on his contract and should put him in the $3 million a year range. Back in 2005, Brown had signed a 10 year extension worth $2.6 a year, with a $100,000 raise each year.
Alabama head coach Nick Saban has suspended starting wide receiver Keith Brown and starting linebacker Prince Hall for a violation of team rules. The pair will be suspended for their season opener against Western Carolina.
The University of Texas Longhorns will be without their speedy receiver Billy Pittman for their opener against Arkansas State. Pittman is sidelined with a shoulder injury. The good news is that star receiver Limas Sweed should be able to play despite a sprained wrist.
