PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors for the 11th week of the college football season.

Dane Evans • So. • QB • Tulsa • Sanger, Texas

Evans was the engineer behind Tulsa’s best offensive showing of the season, as the Golden Hurricane scored a 38-28 win against SMU. He completed 16 of 24 passes for 286 yards and five touchdowns without an interception, connecting on scoring strikes of 18, 42, 64, 1 and 32 yards. Evans had a streak of 12 consecutive completions during the game and threw four TD passes in the first half, helping the Hurricane take a 28-13 lead into halftime. Evans is second in the American Athletic Conference in passing yards (286.2 ypg), touchdown passes (19) and total offense (282.7 ypg).

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Parry Nickerson • Fr. • CB • Tulane • Terrytown, La.

Nickerson keyed Tulane’s defense, which forced four turnovers and held Houston to just two offensive touchdowns in the Green Wave’s 31-24 road win. Nickerson had seven tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss and two fourth-quarter interceptions, including a pick in the end zone on the final play of the game as Houston threatened to tie the score. Nickerson is tied for the American Athletic Conference lead with five interceptions in his redshirt freshman season.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Elliott helped Memphis take over sole possession of first place in the American Athletic Conference standings as he scored 10 of the Tigers’ 16 points in a 16-13 win at Temple, making Memphis eligible for a bowl game for the first time since 2008. He connected on three field goals, including a 31-yard attempt as time expired to give Memphis the win. He added a 27-yard field goal that broke a 10-10 tie and hit from 42 yards in the second quarter to put the Tigers on the board. Elliott leads The American in scoring at 9.0 points per game.

Rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries and had five receptions for 107 yards and a TD in a 31-24 win at Houston.

Tanner Lee • Fr. • QB • Tulane • Destrehan, La.

Completed 24 of 35 passes for 237 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-24 win at Houston.

Had 12 tackles, a fumble recovery and an interception in a 38-28 win against SMU.
