For the third straight week, the Mississippi State Bulldogs remain as the consensus No. 1 team in both the AP and Amway Coaches Polls.
They are joined in the top five of both polls by the Florida State Seminoles, Auburn Tigers, Alabama Crimson Tide and Oregon Ducks.
With the East Carolina Pirates losing this week to the Temple Owls, there are no teams from the American Athletic Conference ranked this week.
There are no teams from the American in the AP Poll among the others receiving votes. The Cincinnati Bearcats and East Carolina both received two votes in the coaches poll.
We’ll have the only poll that matters, the College Football Playoff Committee Top 25, when they announce it again on Tuesday.
