After the first weekend of college football, the newest polls are. And as is always the case this early in the season, they really don’t mean that much.
The Alabama Sooners are the No. 1 team in both polls as the jumped one spot in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll. They are followed by the USC Trojans, LSU Tigers, Oregon Ducks and Oklahoma Sooners in both polls.
The only member of the Big East to be ranked in both polls is the Louisville Cardinals (23/24). The Cardinals weren’t ranked in the Coaches’ Poll to start the season.
The South Florida Bulls and Cincinnati Bearcats are the only Big East teams to be in the others receiving votes in both polls. The Rutgers Scarlet Knights are among the others receiving votes in the Coaches’ Poll.
