Alex Gordon's solo home run in the 3rd inning off of John Lackey turned out to be the difference in the game as the Kansas City Royals beat the Boston Red Sox 4-3 on Sunday afternoon at Kauffman Stadium.

The Royals took three-of-four from the Red Sox. However, the Red Sox still hold a three-game lead over the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL East standings.
