Koji Uehara #19 of the Boston Red Sox celebrates with David Ortiz #34 after the game against the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field on May 26, 2014 in Atlanta, Georgia.

After 10 games of complete misery, the Boston Red Sox have finally won a game. And the best part, they did even when Clay Buchholz put them in a big hole.

After four innings, the Red Sox found themselves trailing the Atlanta Braves 6-1. But in the top of the 5th, they rallied with five runs, two on a Dustin Pedroia single that was followed by a David Ortiz three-run homer.

Then the rains started to fall and the game was delayed. That didn’t deter the visitors though as Big Papi hit a sac fly in the 7th. A.J. Pierzynski added an RBI single and then Junichi Tazawa, Andrew Miller and Koji Uehara made it stand.

This win was a total team win and hopefully it jump starts the Red Sox. They are a better team than their record indicates. We won’t place blame on the injuries or the bad pitching or the slumping at the plate.

It’s baseball. It’s not a sprint. It’s a marathon. There is still 112 games left. Plenty of time to make up ground and get back into things.
