Matt Harrison (L), John Lackey (R)

After coming back for a win yesterday, the Boston Red Sox look to win again in the rubber game of a three-game set with the Texas Rangers this afternoon at Historic Fenway Park.

Today’s first pitch is scheduled for 1:35 p.m. and will be broadcast on NESN in the Red Sox television market. If you live in the Rangers television market, you can catch the game on Fox Sports Southwest. If you live outside of those markets, you’re in luck as TBS will have coverage of the game as well. And if you can’t catch the television broadcast, you can always listen to the game on the 2011 Red Sox Radio Network.

John Lackey makes his 24th start of the season for the Red Sox. In his previous 23 starts, Lackey is 12-10 with a 5.94 ERA. He’s made two starts against the Rangers this season and is 1-1 with a 11.32 ERA (13 ER/10.1 IP). He’s made 35 career starts against them and is 12-13 with a 6.04 ERA. In his only career start against them at the Fens, he received a no decision after allowing two runs in seven innings last year.

Matt Harrison looks to keep the Red Sox off the scoreboard this afternoon for Ron Washington in his 27th appearance (26th start) of 2011. In his previous 26 appearances (25 starts), Harrison is 10-9 with a 3.54 ERA. He’s made two starts against the Red Sox this year and is 1-1 with a 6.00 ERA (8 ER/12 IP). He’s made six career appearances (four starts) against the Red Sox and is 2-1 with a 7.13 ERA (19 ER/24 IP). Two of those appearances (one start) have come at the Fens where he has no record with a 12.60 ERA (7 ER/5 IP).
