Tim Wakefield (L), Felipe Paulino (R)

After winning for the second night in a row, the Boston Red Sox look for a third straight win in the third-game of a four-game set with the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium.

Today’s first pitch is scheduled for 8:10 p.m. and will be broadcast in the Red Sox television market on NESN. If you live in the Royals broadcast area, you can catch the game on Fox Sports Kansas City. And if you can’t catch the television broadcast, you can always listen to the game on the 2011 Red Sox Radio Network.

Tim Wakefield makes his fifth attempt at career win No. 200 in his 18th start (27th appearance) of the season. In his previous 26 appearances (17 starts), Wake is 6-5 with a 4.90 ERA. He has not faced the Royals this year and last faced them in 2010. Wake has made 28 appearances (21 starts) against the Royals in his career and is 11-7 with a 4.26 ERA.  15 of those games (12 starts) have come in the City of Fountains where he is 7-4 with a 3.46 ERA.

Felipe Paulino will look to keep Wake from his 200th win in his 14th start (15th appearance) of 2011. In his previous 14 appearances (13 starts), Paulino is 1-5 with a 3.76 ERA. He’s never faced the Red Sox in his career.
