Justin Verlander (L), Josh Beckett (R)

After taking the first game 7-3 last night, the Boston Red Sox look to take the series tonight in the second game of a three-game set with the Detroit Tigers at historic Fenway Park.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. and will be broadcast nationally on NESN in the Red Sox television market. If you live in the Tigers television market, you can catch the game on FOX Sports Detroit. And if you don’t live in either market you’re in luck as the MLB Network will have coverage of the game (not in Red Sox and Tigers television markets). If you can’t catch the television broadcast, you can always listen to it on the Red Sox radio network.

Josh Beckett looks to turn his season around in his 18th start of 2012. In his previous 17 starts, Beckett is 5-9 with a 4.57 ERA. He’s made two starts against the Tigers this season and is 0-2 with a 8.49 ERA (11 ER/11.2 IP). Beckett has made eight career starts against the Tigers and is 3-4 with a 3.86 ERA. Four of those starts have come at the Fens and he is 1-2 with a 4.15 ERA.

Justin Verlander will toe the rubber for the 22nd time this season. In his previous 21 starts, Verlander is 11-6 with a 2.60 ERA. He’s made two starts against the Red Sox in 2012 and is 0-1 with a 3.21 ERA (5 ER/14 IP). Verlander has made nine career starts against the Red Sox and is 3-3 with a 3.22 ERA. Six of those starts have come at the Fens where he is 2-2 with a 3.80 ERA.
