Joel Pineiro (L), John Lackey (R)

After falling to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the wee hours of the morning, the Boston Red Sox look to close out the season series against them with a win this afternoon.

First pitch for tonight’s game is at 1:35 p.m. and the game will be televised by NESN in the Red Sox television market. If you live in the Angels television market, you can catch the game on FoxSports West. If you don’t live in either market, you’re in luck as you can also watch the game on the MLB Network. And if you can’t catch the television broadcast, you can always listen to the game on the 2011 Red Sox Radio Network.

John Lackey looks to keep up the recent dominance of his former team this afternoon for the Red Sox. He is 1-0 against them this season after throwing eight shutout innings on 4/24. Overall, he’s made four career starts and is 4-0 with a 2.45 ERA. He’s made two of those starts at Fenway where he is 2-0 with a 3.86 ERA.

One-time member of the Red Sox Joel Pineiro takes the hill for the Halos this afternoon. He’s made one start this season and is 0-0 with a 1.29 ERA (1 ER/7 IP). He faced the Red Sox once in 2010 (May 5) and was 0-1 with a 3.00 ERA (2 ER/6 IP). He’s made 11 career starts against the Red Sox and is 3-6 with a 5.94 ERA. He’s made 21 appearances (six starts) at Fenway Park and is 1-4 with a 5.11 ERA.
