John Lackey (L), Colby Lewis (R)

After falling in the 2011 season opener yesterday, the Boston Red Sox look to get their first win of the season against the Texas Rangers at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington tonight.

First pitch is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. and the game will be carried on NESN in the Red Sox television market. If you live in the Rangers television market, you can watch the game on FOXSports Southwest. And if you don’t live in either market, you’re in luck as the MLB Network will also be carrying the game. If you can’t catch the television broadcast, you can always listen to the game on the 2011 Red Sox Radio Network.

Native Texan John Lackey will make his first start of the season for Terry Francona. Last year in 33 starts for the Red Sox, Lackey was 14-11 with a 4.40 ERA.  He has made 33 career starts against the Rangers, 32 as a member of the Los Angeles Angels, and is 11-12 with a 5.74 ERA. In 16 starts at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Lackey is 6-5 with a 6.11 ERA. He made just one start against them in 2010 and took a no decision after allowing two runs in seven innings of work. This will also be his seventh start where he opens his season against the Rangers and he is 1-3 with a 7.11 ERA.

Colby Lewis will be making his first start of the 2011 season for Ron Washington. In 32 starts last season, his first year in the big leagues since 2007, he was 12-13 with a 3.72 ERA.  He’s made eight career appearances (four starts) against the Red Sox and is 1-1 with a 3.12 ERA. He made three starts against the Red Sox in 2010 and was 1-1 with a 3.78 ERA.
