Alfredo Aceves #91 of the Boston Red Sox wipes the sweat off of his face in between pitches in the 9th inning against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim during the game on August 23, 2012 at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts.

We all had heard that Alfredo Aceves was not too happy when he was passed over for the save opportunity in the Boston Red Sox’s 4-3 win over the Kansas City Royals on Friday.

Well apparently he had some sort of meltdown in the bullpen last night according to Jerry Remy of NESN and has now been suspended for three games by the team.

Here’s the official release:

BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox today suspended right-handed pitcher Alfredo Aceves for three games for conduct detrimental to the team.

The announcement was made by Executive Vice President/General Manager Ben Cherington.

Aceves’ suspension began tonight with the Red Sox facing the Royals at Fenway Park
