Jake Peavy (L), David Price (R)

After losing for the eighth straight game last night, the Boston Red Sox look to end the misery this afternoon in the second game of a three-game set with the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field.

First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. The game will be broadcast on NESN in the Red Sox television market. If you live in the Rays television market, you can catch the game on Sun Sports. And if you can’t catch the game on television, you can always listen on the 2014 Red Sox Radio Network.

Jake Peavy toes the slab for the tenth time in 2014. In his previous nine starts, Peavy is 1-2 with a 4.33 ERA. He took the loss against the Rays on May 1 after allowing two runs in 6.1 innings of work. He’s made seven career starts against the Rays and is 3-2 with a 4.60 ERA. Three of those starts have come at the Trop where he is 2-0 with a 3.93 ERA.

David Price makes his 11th start of 2014 this afternoon. In his previous 10 starts, Price is 4-4 with a 4.28 ERA. He made five starts against the Red Sox in 2013 and was 2-2 with a 2.48 ERA. He’s made 20 career starts against the visiting nine and is 10-6 with a 2.93 ERA.
