Video: Heart of a Champion – A Tribute To Jim Calhoun

STORRS, Conn. – "Heart Of A Champion: A Tribute To Jim Calhoun" was held on Sunday night at Gampel Pavilion to salute and honor the Hall of Fame career of UConn's Hall of Fame men's basketball coach. The conclusion of the evening was the re-naming of Stadium Drive to "Jim Calhoun Way". Calhoun becomes just the fourth person in the history of the University to have a road named for him on campus.

The event featured a number of Calhoun's former players paying tribute to him including Ray Allen, Richard Hamilton, Kevin Freeman, Steve Pikiell, Rudy Gay, A.J. Price, Donny Marshall, Jake Voskuhl, Kemba Walker and Ben Gordon. In addition, video greetings were shown from prominent coaches from around the county and Jim Nantz of CBS Sports.

“Heart Of A Champion: A Tribute To Jim Calhoun”

STORRS, Conn. – The University of Connecticut will play host to "Heart Of A Champion: A Tribute To Jim Calhoun" on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Gampel Pavilion. The event will pay tribute to Hall of Fame coach Jim Calhoun and his indelible mark on the UConn community and the entire state of Connecticut during his time as men's basketball coach from 1986-2012.

UConn HuskiesThe event will include a wide variety of speakers, including former Husky players from different eras of Coach Calhoun's UConn career.

The cost for attending is $125 per person and the event will benefit The Pat and Jim Calhoun Cardiology Center at the UConn Health Center and the UConn Basketball Development Center Fund.
