UConn QB #4 Deshon Foxx looks for running room in the fourth quarter on September 27, 2014 at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, CT.

Could the UConn Huskies be returning to the days where they have a wildcat quarterback at the helm during certain situations? The answer to that is that it is quite possible they could.

If you stayed until the end of the game, judging by the crowd left you most likely didn’t, you saw or would have seen UConn WR Deshon Foxx under center for the final drive of the game.

While he did hand off to Ron Johnson some, Foxx used his speed to gain 30 yards on three plays with a long of 26. He also completed his only pass to Noel Thomas for four yards.

Personally, I liked what I saw of it.

Foxx looked comfortable back there (he did play some quarterback in high school). If you paired him up with Arkeel Newsome, that duo could possibly do some damage in a read option situation.

It’ll be interesting to see how much UConn head coach Bob Diaco goes to this over the final seven games of the season.

Watch below as Diaco talks about Foxx as well as Foxx’s reaction to being under center.
