Taylor Mack Out For UConn; Others Still Questionable

UConn's Yawin Smallwood pats Taylor Mack on the back after Mack intercepted the ball against Maryland in the first half at Rentschler Field Saturday.

The UConn Huskies secondary will be shorthanded on Saturday afternoon against the Buffalo Bulls as cornerback Taylor Mack tweeted he didn't make the trip.

Mack suffered a stinger in his should during the 24-21 loss to Michigan last week. Jhavon Williams, who had an interception, a forced fumble and four tackles, will most likely get the start for Mack there. It's also quite possible that Tyree Clark could see time if the Huskies are in their nickel defense package.

As for RT Kevin Friend, WR Shakim Phillips, LB Graham Stewart and WR Kamal Abrams, they remain questionable aka game-time decisions this afternoon.

Head coach Paul Pasqualoni said on Thursday's conference call that Friend was probably the closest to playing. If Phillips can't go, it'll be up to the younger receivers and tight ends to step up to help allow Geremy Davis get open.
