Cochran, Christen Earn AAC Player of the Week Honors

The UConn Huskies football team ended their season on a bright note with a 45-10 win over the Memphis Tigers on Saturday afternoon. On Monday, three players were honored by the conference, two with player of the week honors.

UConn QB Casey Cochran was named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week while K Chad Christen was named American Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.  WR Geremy Davis named to the Weekly Honor Roll.

Cochran threw for a school-record 461 yards with four touchdowns in the Huskies’ 45-10 win against Memphis to close the regular season. He completed 36 of 54 passes and broke the previous school record of 445 yards, set by Dan Orlovsky against Syracuse in 2004. Cochran went 3-1 as UConn’s starting quarterback, throwing for 1,293 yards and 11 touchdowns to help the Huskies end the season on a three-game winning streak.

Christen scored nine points and was perfect on seven placements in cold and windy conditions to help UConn to a 45-10 win against Memphis. He hit a season-long 46-yard field goal in the third quarter to give the Huskies a 28-point lead and was 6-for-6 on PATs to help UConn close the season with three straight wins. Christen led UConn in scoring this season with 57 points.

Davis had a school-record 15 receptions for 207 yards and a touchdown in the win against Memphis.
